About the Lt. Gov. for 2008 - 2009, Ollie Casteel

He and his wife, Sue, have been married for forty seven years. They have four children and one grandchild. Ollie and his wife have lived in Plano since March, 1987. They are members of Resurrection Lutheran Church there. Sue has previously been the co-leader of The School Supply Project, a ministry of their church, and they both still participate. Ollie has been active in Kiwanis since 1995. He has been president of the Kiwanis Club of Plano twice, first for the 1999 – 2000 term and again in 2006-2007. Prior to being elected president he was the newsletter editor and then the club secretary. He sees his current term as the Lieutenant Governor of Division 37 as his first opportunity to work outside the club level in Kiwanis. Ollie has previously participated in the Kiwanis Angels, ramp building, and fund raisers. He served on the Board of Directors for the Assistance Center of Collin County. He volunteers at JobNet, an unemployed support group at the Reformed Church of Plano. He likes to read science fiction, surf the Internet, and work on computers. He has attended courses on financial planning, writing, and private investigating. Ollie would like to be able to retire and spend summers in Michigan and the rest of the year in Texas |
